Privacy Policy — இராமாயணம் (Ramayanam)
This policy explains what information the Ramayanam app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is a free collection of Ramayanam stories in Tamil, with read-aloud audio, search and bookmarks. It is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob.
Summary
- The app has no sign-up or account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number or contacts.
- Your bookmarks are stored only on your device. We have no server and receive none of your data.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects some device information as described below.
Information stored on your device
The stories, pictures and your bookmarks are kept in a database inside the app on your phone. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. It is deleted when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows banner and full-screen ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted, show personalised ads, Google may automatically collect:

This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and is transmitted using encryption. Google’s use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your advertising choices
- Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent form before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy settings at the bottom of the app’s home screen.
- Everyone can reset or delete their Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on the device).

Read-aloud audio
The read-aloud feature uses the text-to-speech engine already installed on your phone (for example, Speech Services by Google). The app sends only the story text to that engine; it does not record or listen to your voice and does not use the microphone. If your text-to-speech engine uses online voices, its processing is governed by that engine provider’s privacy policy.
Sharing stories
When you tap Share, the app opens Android’s share menu with the story text. You choose where it goes; the app does not see or store what you share.

The app does not access your location (GPS), camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
Data retention and deletion
We do not hold any of your data. Data on your device is removed when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. Data collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google’s policies; you can reset your Advertising ID at any time as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
